Mei, Cassidy, Izzie and Piper are four friends who live in Paris Texas. They all have the same dream: leaving small town Paris and see the world. When Piper becomes the laughing stock of Paris, Texas, and an overnight YouTube sensation for kissing a pig at the Cotton Festival, she wants to escape. When their high school comes up with an exchange program, the girls take their chance: Mei is going to China to see where she was adopted as a baby, Cassidy heads down under to Australia, Piper, will leave Paris in Texas for the real Paris in France. Izzy doesn’t have the money to participate, so she is stuck up in Paris without her friends this semester. .
To add spice to their semester away, and to stay connected to their best friends, the girls start The International Kissing Club, a Facebook page where they can anonymously update one another and brag about all the amazing guys they're meeting. But the four friends also discover that things turn out differently then they expected. Piper is kissing her way through Paris while Cassidy is learning to surf from hottie Lucas. Mei struggles in China and quickly discovers that she doesn’t fit in with her classmates there and Izzy, she’s gone to work on Tanner Colt’s farm – resident quarterback for her dad’s team – and current Piper crush.
This was definitely a fun read but we also learn what true friendship is all about. What I loved the most about this book was the different characters of the four girls, they all have something special and a great friendship bond. Overall I found Mei’s story the most interesting, the other where potrayed somewhat predictable at some points. Overall, I thought The International Kissing Club was cute and a fun adventure. It reminded me a bit of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. For readers who love to read about international travels and looking for a fun fast paced read, look no further and pick the International Kissing Club!!
