Years ago I have read Abby McDonald's Sophomore Switch, so I was excited to find her new upcoming title on Netgalley! Getting Over Garret Delaney is a nice and cute read, but not the most original.About the characters: Sadie is just an average teenage girl who suddenly falls in love with her best friend, she really starts to obsessing about Garret during the summer while he really lets her down with choosing another girl. I really disliked some of Garrets actions, and he wasn't a very believalble character as he choose for Sadie again when his camp girlfriend broke up with him. Really, Sadie had to stop whining about this guy who obviously wasn't worth her energy and move on!
I finished it till the end because it was light and entertaining, but I could totally predict what was coming and through the whole book I had the feeling that I have read this plot already a thousand times in similar books.  But if you are looking for just a book to escape with for a lost few hours, it is fun.
