In this second book in the Ashley Clarke series by Keri Mikulski, life is having some changes for softball girl Ashley.
Her strict parents have forbidden her to see her boyfriend Jake ever again. Jake's mom died in tragic circumstances, and now Jake has a bad name, and not only for that. Rumor has he is seeing more girls than Ashley alone. And the fact that Jake does wrestling doesn't help a lot to give him a good name.
There is a new girl in Ashley's softball team, Rachel. They become friends, but then Ashley discovers that Jake and Rachel know eachother. And that Rachel is also featuring in the rumors about Jake.
On a softball game, the girls of Ashley's team stay at a hotel, and have a little party with a bit of alcohol. Pictures are taken with a phone and bad girl Cristy is blackmailing the girls to show the pics to the coach. Jake and Ashley still see eachother secretly, and when a few lies Ashley told her parents are leaking, Ashley is grounded for a long time. After the grounding, Ashley is joining her softball team again, and the team does really really good games, and are up for Nationals.
But Ashley is still stricked in a few of her lies to her parents, and the rumors that Jake is seeing Rachel are getting stronger, and Ashley wants to know the truth.
Will everything be solved and okay again, between Jake, her parents and Rachel?
And will her softball games be influenced on this? Read and find out!
The second book by Keri Mikulski is a strong, fun and real good new YA novel. In a sea of dark Ya novels that seems to be the trend now, Keri Mikulski has launched a fresh read, that is, in my opinion, THE book pick of this summer. It is really good. Screwball, the first book, was great. And with Change Up, Keri Mikulski has reached a new book peak. Even if you are not that into sports, you will love this new sunny novel. And for the second time, Keri Mikulski's book is rated 5 stars! Make sure you got this book in your beach bag!
